We had less than 12 months to make this landmark 5-part series - a world first: a global, cinematographic, environmental series aimed not at the converted, but at the mainstream audience, filmed during the pandemic, featuring 8 high profile talent and dozens of different human stories from around the world. It took a large and dispersed group of talented individuals to pull it off. Stranded in the UK, the Silverback team had to forge relationships with cinematographers and directors across the globe, guiding them carefully to ensure production values were as high as possible. Due to time, we cut all 5 films in parallel, with the composed music recorded before the edits. It was a Herculean task, but all of us were committed - the Earthshot Prize is an attempt to galvanize humankind to act in 5 key ways to repair our broken relationship with our planet. Publicizing this project was the most worthwhile cause, and we are proud of the part we have played.
