Mike Cosentino

Mike Cosentino is responsible for all linear and digital content and programming for CTV, Canada’s #1 network, CTV Two, and Bell Media’s English-language suite of entertainment specialty networks, including Bravo, Comedy, MTV, Much, Gusto, Space, and more. He also oversees the development, creation, and execution of original production and in-house content for Bell Media Studios and the program strategy for CraveTV, Bell Media’s premium SVOD service.

As part of his portfolio, he oversees the development, creation, and execution of English-language original programming for Bell Media’s conventional, specialty, and OTT services. Cosentino also directs the company’s Hollywood buy strategy during the annual May screenings in Los Angeles. Previously, Cosentino’s portfolio was expanded to include Bell Media’s entertainment specialty networks when he was promoted to Senior Vice-President, CTV and Specialty in 2016.

In his prior role as Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV, Cosentino was integral to the launch of CraveTV in 2014 and again during its transition to a direct-to-consumer service in 2016. In that role, he was part of the team that secured exclusive rights for HBO and SHOWTIME programs and negotiated exclusive deals for several franchise series, including SOUTH PARK, DR. WHO, and the first worldwide SVOD deal ever for SEINFELD. Cosentino also commissioned CraveTV’s first original series LETTERKENNY which launched to #1 status on Super Bowl Sunday in February, 2016.

In 2011, he was named Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and Chair, Bell Media Programming Council where he oversaw the program strategy for the rebrand and launch of CTV Two.

Cosentino has been a key figure in leading CTV during a period of unprecedented success and has been instrumental in some of CTV’s most brand-defining homegrown programs, such as CARDINAL, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, MOTIVE, SAVING HOPE, and MASTERCHEF CANADA, as well as the acquisition and renewal of iconic Hollywood titles including THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE VOICE, THE ACADEMY AWARDS, and the SUPER BOWL.

Cosentino joined the company in 1996 as Communications Director at Discovery Channel, before moving to CTV and eventually becoming Vice-President, Communications. In 2007, he transitioned to Vice-President, CTV Programming, where he first began overseeing acquisition and scheduling for the network.

Cosentino is on the advisory boards for NextMEDIA and EIF Canada (Entertainment Industry Foundation). He was awarded the Content Trendsetter Award from World Screen in 2011 recognizing his expertise in programming and strategic scheduling.
Cosentino holds a post-degree diploma in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and an undergraduate degree from McMaster University.

Cynthia Fenneman

Cynthia A. Fenneman is president and CEO of American Public Television (APT), the leading syndicator of award-winning programs to the more than 360 U.S. public television stations. Last year, APT presented 31 of the top 100 highest rated public television titles. APT distributes two of public television’s most widely carried multicast channels: Create TV, featuring popular cooking, travel, gardening, arts and crafts and home improvement programs; and WORLD, showcasing quality non-fiction content from established, diverse and emerging producers.


Fenneman is a broadcasting and production executive with more than 30 years of experience in commercial, public and network cable television. Fenneman has been awarded more than 40 international, national and regional honors, including 12 Emmys, a Columbia duPont and CableAce award.


Prior to APT, as president of Fenneman Productions, a television production and consulting company, she was executive producer for A&E Biography, PBS, Discovery and American Public Television programs.  In the mid ‘90s, she was special projects executive for PBS’s Local/National Initiatives including The Democracy Project which fostered political coverage.  From 1999 to 2001, Fenneman was major projects executive and part of the launch team for the Discovery Health Channel.  For more than a decade, Fenneman also produced content with Westinghouse Broadcasting at WJZ-TV/Baltimore, KPIX/San Francisco and KYW/Philadelphia for news, daily live talk shows, documentaries, entertainment specials and investigative consumer report series.  During her several years with Evening/PM Magazine, she was the leading producer of national stories.

She has been working in the documentary industry for 15 years, as Director of Distribution and Acquisitions at ZED, an independent producer and distributor, and at ARTE for the past two years. Her experience includes concluding major international co-production deals with Discovery Channel, National Geographic, WGBH and helping producers put together multi-million dollar production budgets on the international market. ARTE Distribution has a 4,000 hour of very high end factual and invests every year about 1.4 million USD in production and development in the form of distribution advances. She’s passionate about history, arts & culture and blue chip nature films.

Alice Webb

Alice Webb is Director, BBC Children’s, responsible for all aspects of the BBC’s Children’s services – including being responsible for the UK’s two most popular networks for youngest audiences, CBeebies and CBBC. With over 8,000 hours of children’s content each year, together with iPlayer, apps, interactive and multimedia content the BBC’s children’s services reach 69% of UK children under the age of 12 each month.
Alice leads the production and operations of BBC Children’s – including 450 staff based at MediaCityUK, Salford.
Formerly, Chief Operating Officer (COO), BBC England, Alice was responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology, people, workspace, migration and ways of working across the BBC sites in Salford, Bristol and Birmingham – including orchestrating the successful move of key BBC departments including Sport, BBC Children's, 5 live and BBC Learning to Salford, in the biggest BBC move outside London in its history.
Before joining the BBC Alice was at PA Consulting Group for five years where she worked with organisations including Orange, The Cabinet Office, Reuters and Deutsche Bank.
Alice’s first career was as a chartered civil engineer working on water, wastewater and tunnelling projects in the UK and overseas.

The pioneer of the Israeli formats industry internationally, and the Founder and CEO of Armoza Formats, Avi Armoza is one of Israel's leading film and television producers.

Avi has been working in television and film business for more than 20 years. He began his tenure when he founded JCS Productions, which has grown to be Israel largest independent production house. Prior to Armoza, Avi was the VP of Content and Business Development at Israel’s leading Media Company, the Jerusalem Capital Studios.

In 2005, he founded Armoza Formats, and under his leadership it has become a key player in the international formats market, successfully establishing it as a leading independent format development and distribution company that aims to innovate in distribution methods and format creation. In addition to driving the company forward, Avi has served as Executive Producer on several of Armoza’s hit shows, including prime-time entertainment show I Can Do That!, which has become a well-known brand aired in over 85 territories, including in the US on NBC and the recently-launched prime time singing competition The Four, which has now had two hit seasons on FOX.

Zia Bales is Senior Acquisitions Manager, Kids for Turner EMEA, working across Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Boing, Cartoonito and Toonami.

In this role, Zia oversees and negotiates shared acquisitions for Turner EMEA’s kids’ business, working closely with the local heads of programming and acquisitions of each of the channels and the content heads within EMEA. In addition, Zia works closely with production and coproduction partners to provide creative consultation throughout the development of select series, including the recently-announced Taffy, an original series for Boomerang with Cyber Group Studios.

Zia has been at Turner since 2013. Prior to this she held an Acquisitions role at Disney. Zia has a background in Television Production having held various positions in Production Management.

Having joined Flame four years ago, Philip is attending Banff World Media Festival with the aim of sourcing high end factual content in multiple genres for Flame Distribution to assist with marketing internationally. Flame's experienced sales team are also able to assist our producers with pre-buys. In five years with Canada’s national public broadcaster, she has developed a dynamic, innovative, and award-winning CBC creative and marketing agency, and increased CBC's profile and standing as one of Canada's leading brands by leading industry-leading campaigns for CBC's programming and platforms including the recent launch of CBC's new streaming service, CBC Gem. At CBC, she has hired numerous women for key managerial positions, and championed diversity including projects such as the acclaimed Herstory in Black.

Prior to joining CBC, Brownlee held positions of influence including working in the Prime Minister’s Office of the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney and serving as Director of Communications for the Department of National Defence in Ottawa, and with the Royal Family in London. Previously, she provided her skills and knowledge of public relations and strategic planning in her role as Director of National Media Relations for Bloomingdale’s in New York, and in the media industry as Vice President of Communications at Astral Television Networks and Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for CTVglobemedia. Bonnie has also been the Royal Correspondent for CTV and CBC, appearing on multiple media outlets around the world.

Brownlee has done extensive volunteer work with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), based out of Washington D.C., a non-partisan, non-profit organization that works with partners in developing countries to increase the effectiveness of democratic institutions. Over the years she has worked with numerous women’s groups, leading workshops focused on building their public profile and enhancing the roles of women in the political process. Her priority has been on building and managing political campaigns and constructing strategic messaging in such countries as Yemen, Kosovo, and Albania. She was Chair of the Board of Canada's Walk of Fame, and is a past board member of Women In Film and Television (WIFT); the Fundraising board of the Ottawa Heart Institute; the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada; Chances for Children (US) and Children in Crisis (UK). In addition, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 in recognition of her achievements and contributions as an outstanding Canadian, and in 2018 received the Mentorship Award from Women in Communications and Technology.

Brownlee is an alumnus of Carleton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and also holds a graduate diploma from the National Defence College of Canada in Global Strategic Defence Issues.

Prior to joining CuriosityStream, Mr. Burk produced, wrote and directed numerous series and specials for The Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Travel Channels, including the Shark Week special 'Alien Sharks' and the Bob Ballard special 'Caribbean's Deadly Underworld.' He also served as an Executive Producer at Discovery Studios for eight years, where he supervised, wrote and produced a diverse slate of original programming for Discovery Communication’s various cable and digital platforms.

Mitch Burman

After spending the first 20 years of his life watching way too much TV, Mitch decided that he might as well make a career out of it.
The Gemini, CSA and International Emmy® Award nominated Producer/Director got his start in television working in Los Angeles on NBC’s popular daytime drama “Santa Barbara”. After a brief stay in Hollywood, he returned to Canada and has spent the past 25 years honing his talents all across the Canadian broadcast map.
Known for his creativity and expertise as a show runner, Mitch has been able to bring his talents to some of this country’s most popular and critically acclaimed programs. Having spent a large portion of his early career in sports television, his more recent years have focused primarily on the Unscripted and Kids genres where he produced and/or directed shows such as “Style By Jury”, “The Second City’s Next Comedy Legend”, “Conviction Kitchen” and “The Adrenaline Project” just to name a few. Mitch is also regarded as one of Canada’s leading producers of hidden camera prank shows, having created the hit YTV series “Extreme Babysitting” and “Undercover High”.
Since 2016 Mitch has been serving as the Head of Production for Toronto-based HeartHat Entertainment where he jumped feet first into the world of Animation by creating and producing the critically acclaimed “CANAdooDAday” for CBC Kids.

Her background in radio, production, marketing, and PR led her into the representation business at commercial prodco, Plum Productions, helping to pioneer their branded and short-form entertainment division, with agency life starting in 2005 at the Gersh Agency. Jan is a multiple Canadian Comedy Award-winning actor and has performed across North America in a variety of comedy shows. She has appeared in films and television shows including Baroness Von Sketch, Rookie Blue, Mean Girls and Kim’s Convenience.

As a writer, Jan is a Gemini/Canadian Screen Nominated writer for her work on City TV's Sunnyside and the YTV youth sketch show That’s So Weird, creating some of the series most memorable and colourful characters. She is a writer for CBC's Because News with Gavin Crawford and Just For Laughs All Access and CBC’s Baroness Von Sketch Show. Jan is also very proud to have written for the Nickelodeon shows Make it Pop and The Other Kingdom and the international sensation The Next Step on NBC Universal.

Vanessa Case is SVP Studio Canada at VICE Media Canada, the country’s leading youth media company and digital studio. Vanessa heads all of VICE Studios’ productions in Canada including development, production, financing, sales and licensing, as well as overseeing VICE’s production and post-production facilities in Toronto.

A senior media executive with a career spanning two decades, Vanessa has deep expertise in content strategy, delivering business growth and development and execution for global companies, including owned intellectual property (IP), co-productions and international financing.

Prior to joining VICE, Vanessa was EVP Content at Blue Ant Media. She was a critical player in the launch and development of several world-renowned brands landing in Canada, including BBC Earth, HGTV Canada and National Geographic. Prior to her role at Blue Ant, Vanessa held positions at Shaw, CanWest and Alliance Atlantis, where she commissioned hundreds of hours of original content, developed original production slates and led scheduling and acquisition strategies for some of Canada's top speciality channels.

Vanessa is a member of WIFT and a WIFT Connect Mentor, Women Against MS (WAMS), Cabinet and has sat on the Banff World Media Festival’s Advisory Board and the CWC Board of Directors.

Prior to joining 9 Story in 2011, Candice held various positions at Warner Bros International Television Distribution across business administration and sales. Candice also held prior positions at Corus Entertainment within programming (W Network) and production (CMT).

Following her involvement in the development of Killjoys, she boarded the production in 2015 for the subsequent four seasons producing alongside EPs Karen Troubetzkoy and Michelle Lovretta, assuming the role of Producer on the fifth and final season of the series.

Prior to his role in A+E’s international expansion, he served as Head of Daytime, Comedy and Specials Programming for A&E Network in the US where he worked with likes of John Stewart, Steve Carell and Louis CK, overseeing late night and daytime program development, execution and scheduling. He was also responsible for the acquisition, development and scheduling of the network's special event programming with a concentration on world premiere documentary mini-series and crime-based reality.
In pioneering the area of premium unscripted programming events, Michael served as Executive Producer for A&E Network on a number of the channel’s highest-rated specials and groundbreaking documentary mini-series. He has received a CableAce, a SIVA Educational Award, a National Educational Media Award, Sons of The American Revolution Citation, a Banff Rockie Award and two national Primetime Emmy nominations.

Additionally, she has produced numerous presentations and pilots for a number of productions companies including Shed Media, creators and producers of the hit VH1 franchise Basketball Wives. She attributes much of her success in television to her early career in development with Releve Entertainment where she served as Manager of Development, helping to craft and produce countless presentations and pilots.

When not making television, Colleen is active in her faith community, serving as Secretary for Los Angeles’ H. Bellfield Hannibal Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians and leading retreats for busy industry professionals under the banner of her newest venture, Soul Care LA.

She currently resides in Venice, CA.

Serena began working in television in 2002 at Company Pictures, one of the UK’s largest independent drama production companies. During her time there, Company produced hundreds of hours of critically acclaimed, award winning drama for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, WGBH, HBO, Starz and other leading broadcasters all over the world. She worked as an assistant script editor and script editor across Company’s development slate and many of the shows, including Inspector George Gently, The Devil’s Whore, Einstein and Eddington and Mischief Night, before becoming the series script editor on ITV’s hugely popular long running family series Wild at Heart. Subsequently she became the series producer for series 4 and 5 and story producer for series 7. She then worked as Company’s Head of Development for several years: overseeing, building and developing an extensive and varied drama slate, before joining Sky in 2017. She is currently Executive Producer for Development at Sky Drama.

She launched Animated Women UK in 2013 and has run it with a board for 5 years, and also obtained a Masters in Professional Media Practice specialising in animation management from Bournemouth University in 2015.
