Motherland, the critically acclaimed BBC Two comedy helmed by Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh, Helen Linehan and Barunka O’Shaughnessy, returned to BBC Two this year with 1 million viewers and a 7.5% audience share following on from the BAFTA and RTS nominated first series. The show explores the ups and down of modern parenting with its heady mix of competitive friendships, school-gate rivalry and a lot of red wine. In the second series the gang struggle with Halloween parties, half term trips to the countryside and the dreaded school sports day.
