The Time of Our Lives is, on the one hand, the story of an ex-sport star whose fire begins to burn again in a discipline that is completely new to her. On the other hand, it is also the story of a perfectionist amateur who is perhaps a little too willing to make a dream come true. Their unlikely goal: Not to finish last at the World Time Trial Championships. Ex-athlete Elodie Ouedraogo and TV presenter Otto-Jan Ham try, with the support of the greatest experts from the world of cycling, to train themselves in six months to become time trialists of a professional level. The Time of Our Lives not only offers a detailed insight into the world's simplest, but also toughest cycling discipline, the programme also aptly demonstrates the influence that being a top athlete has on one's physical and mental well-being and, above all, on one's personal environment.
