This series sought to bring a new approach to the subject of climate change, combining an obs-doc genre with blue chip specialist factual. The series builds a narrative around Greta an her personal journey both physically as she travels across the globe and emotionally as she’s confronted by challenges in a year off from school. When filming commenced Greta was one of the most famous personalities on the planet, yet the series reveals her in a new light. Taking the viewer behind the scenes to understand the complex character she is and to reveal what drives her. Key to understanding Greta is understanding the science that motivated her to start the school strike movement in the first place. With high quality science journalism in the fore, the series explores the what the latest science says about the affect climate change is having and what changes are needed to international climate goals.
