One important source was Carl Ellinger's Salzburg photo studio, best known today for promoting the worldwide fame of the Salzburg Festival. The only problem: Carl Ellinger disappeared in 1916! So who took Studio Ellinger’s thousands of photos? An intriguing examination of Europe's contemporary history from 1916 to the 2020s, DOUBLE EXPOSURE by Beate Thalberg is presented as a six-episode web series: an investigation into iconic historical photographs and their missing authors, with surprising results.
