"Alice" is a biopic about the life and work of Alice Schwarzer, the figurehead of the German women's movement. Alice" is about a young woman who wants to become a journalist. She overcomes numerous obstacles and after her first jobs at a newspaper and at the satirical magazine Pardon, she gains a reputation as a freelance author and correspondent in Paris. At the same time, she joined the French women's movement. The feminist activism she brings to Germany, which will make her one of the most important figures in the German women's movement, damages her career as a journalist. She puts this career on the line, is immensely opposed - even within her own ranks - and then puts all her eggs in one basket by founding the magazine EMMA, thus succeeding in what seemed incompatible: bringing journalism and activism together. We hope to be able to inspire you for "Alice", which seems so important to us in today's times, when certain forces are working on a backlash with regard to abortion.
