This is the story of a couple caught between two generations: their Quebec-born children and their traditional Haitian-born parents. In their early forties, Myrlande and Henri dare to chart their own course. Lakay Nou is the first series of its kind in Quebec television. The authors’ main goal was to change the Haitian communities’ representation by showcasing a well-off family and black joy. The authors felt that only the community’s struggles are typically presented, so they wanted to tell a different, much funnier story. Thanks to its universal family themes, the show has been so successful that a third season was confirmed even before the second one was released in January 2025.
