- Best Performance in a Drama
Industry series 3 takes its cues liberally from the financial and political events that impact its audience, whether that be through exploring the fall out from the collapse of the small energy provider market in 2021, or its own version of the Truss-Kwarteng “mini-budget” from the point of view of City trader, Rishi. But it’s not only the financial commentary that is sharper this time around, the personal dramas are bigger too, perhaps best exemplified by the mystery that haunts the series of what happened to Yasmin’s father. The audience are treated to flashbacks of a debauched party on a yacht in the Mediterranean where Yasmin last saw her father and, as events unravel, we learn that she may be implicated in her father’s death and Harper helped her do it. This story (and, in a way, the 3-season long story of Yasmin and Harper’s friendship) comes to a blistering climax in the final scene of episode six in which secrets are revealed and grievances laid out on the table.
