The Drama celebrates the positivity of youth and centres around friendship, first love and family, alongside the complex realities of school life, mental health struggles and never-ending outside pressures. All through the lens of the resilient, misfit heroes who tackle life with laughter, courage and a lot of attitudes These tween teen themes have cut through with the 7-12s – with each series has bringing growing amounts of this hard-to-reach demographic to the BBC and making for talked about, relevant viewing. Shot entirely in Coventry - an industrial and typically underrepresented area of the UK - and made by a predominantly local crew, the show has been exceptionally well received in the area, taking home regional awards for “Best Scripted” and celebrated by the community for un-stereotypical portrayal of the region.
