Taskmaster is joyous, sometimes a bit rude and, above all, an unashamed celebration of the silly - as such, it is one of those rare shows that entire families sit down to watch together. The show's creator, Alex Horne, has tied together elements of sitcoms, panel shows, talent shows, reality shows, improv shows and variety shows to produce something that has proved popular all over the world. The key concept of featuring the same five comics battling away against each other across the series allows characters to build, jokes to run and favourites to develop so that by Episode 10 viewers genuinely believe that someone who can accurately throw a yoga ball at a tower of cans deserves to be called a Champion. At the heart of it all is the unique chemistry between Taskmaster Greg Davies and his adoring assistant, Alex Horne. Humiliation for contestants is probably inevitable; that Greg and Alex make that humiliation so much fun is why comics line up to take part in this very funny show
