Britain's Nuclear Scandal: Our Story
Hardcash Productions
UK
- History & Biography
This is a haunting and deeply affecting film that sensitively and damningly bears witness to one of the biggest unresolved scandals in British history. For 70 years the men who built Britain’s nuclear bomb and their offspring, and the local indigenous communities caught up in the test programme have suffered the debilitating and life-limiting impacts of radiation exposure. On top of that they have met walls of institutional silence and lies when seeking the truth behind the safety of the tests and their health issues. This doc allows these men and indigenous people to tell their whole truths and shine a light on their campaign for justice. The film received over ten reviews/pick of the days from national newspapers. The Times: “Simon Rawles’ Documentary is a powerful call to arms” The Guardian: “An infuriating investigation into what is described.. as ‘the longest running scandal in British history’ ” Times Radio: “A very, very powerful watch... I would urge everyone to watch the film"
