TRESPASSES is a four-part series from BAFTA award-winning and double Oscar-nominated Wildgaze Films (Brooklyn, An Education). Adapted by rising talent Ailbhe Keogan (Bad Sisters, Run & Jump) and based on Louise Kennedy’s bestselling debut novel, published by Bloomsbury and shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, Trespasses is a forbidden love story set against the backdrop of the Troubles. An intimate and emotionally charged portrait of love in a time of conflict, the series is set just outside Belfast in 1975 and follows Cushla Lavery, a young Catholic schoolteacher who begins an affair with an older, married Protestant barrister. Through Cushla’s perspective, we witness the collision of the personal and the political, the impossibility of remaining untouched by the world around you, and the reality that every choice has consequences.
