In this second series, a mysterious stranger offers to unburden Jamma from his clownish ways to win back his boyfriend, Guy, but Jamma must decide if the risk is worth the reward. This series has an incredible cast firing on all comedic cylinders and with Mawaan Rizwan at the helm writing it, starring in it, as well as dreaming up this world, it is a perfect crystallisation of his creative force and his powerful comedy voice. The live TX landed a 50% viewership increase by comparison to the first series’ debut outing and was described in The Guardian’s four-star review as an “enchanting sitcom [that] comes at you like a tidal wave of creativity”. Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies raved that this series was “visionary, absolutely extraordinary it explodes into the wildest ride” and Beyond the Joke saw “pastel-hued echoes of The Mighty Boosh”.
