The story of North of North naturally leans into an incredible opportunity to showcase and present talented Inuk artists to the world, mixed in with popular songs that naturally connect the ‘North’ to the world. Our lead, Siaja, is a strong, independent, Inuk woman, we wanted the soundtrack to reflect her character. In this episode, we curated a soundtrack to reflect Siaja’s world: “You Learn” by Alanis Morissette, “…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, “Welcome To My Island” by Caroline Polachek, “Uja” by Tanya Tagaq, "Arnaq" by Elisapie. In the pilot episode, “Top of The World”, our soundtrack comprised of 14 songs: popular songs mixed in with Inuk songs AND specially commissioned Inuk covers of popular songs: 'Levitating' by Riit and 'Milkshake' by Angela Amarualik.
