DISCLOSURE is an event film commissioned by SWR and NDR, based on a true story: The murder of the young police officer Michèle Kiesewetter in Heilbronn in 2007 remains unsolved to this day, making it one of the most explosive criminal cases in recent German history. Our film embarks on a search for the motives that led to this murder: Michèle Kiesewetter, called Rebecca Henselmann in the film, had to pay with her life for her knowledge of the entanglements between right-wing extremists, organized crime, and certain right-wing members within the police force. This makes the film not only a historical work, but also—albeit in a fractured way—a hero’s narrative within the police film genre. DISCLOSURE is an exciting police drama and well-researched political film by W&B in collaboration with EPO Film, Vienna. Under the powerful direction of Dustin Loose, the film urges us—almost 20 years after the murder in Heilbronn—to look closely and remain vigilant.
