Steve Pemberton & Reece Shearsmith return with their sixth season of twisted tales, an anthology of stories to either make you shake with fear or shriek with laughter. The restrictions of filming during the Covid-19 lockdown meant that many stories had to be restricted to sets on a sound stage. The first of these was a glorious deconstruction of fan-culture in genre television, featuring Pemberton as a successful show-runner forced to rewrite the unpopular ending of his fantasy epic by an obsessive fan played by Shearsmith. Everyone says the Season 7 finale of fantasy epic The Ninth Circle was pretty disappointing; even show-runner Spencer Maguire is keen to move on to new projects. But not everyone thinks that it has to be the end of the matter. In fact, Ninth Circle obsessive Simon Smethurst decides to visit his hero to help put things right.
