First Day is an Emmy award winning Australian children’s series created by Julie Kalceff. In Season 2, we reconnect with transgender student Hannah Bradford in her second year of high school, where her run for Class Captain exposes an underlying level of transphobia among her classmates. She starts a group for LGBTQIA+ students but risks alienating her closest friends in the process. First Day Season 1 won the BANFF Rockies Award for Children's Live Action in 2021, alongside before going on to win several other international awards, including a Rose d'Or, a Kidscreen Award, a GLAAD Media Award and the International Emmy.
