Legacy: In the Shadow of Greatness follows the athletic pursuits of NBA hopeful Zaire Wade, rising boxer Evan Holyfield and Olympic high jumper Vashti Cunningham – the children of sports icons Dwyane Wade (3x NBA Champion), Evander Holyfield (4x world heavyweight champion) and Randall Cunningham (NFL legend) – as they attempt to make their own mark on the world. This six-part docuseries was discovery+’s first foray into premium sports programming, and the series did extremely well. Yes, Legacy is about three famous families, but the themes explored throughout – chasing your dreams, the pressure to succeed, living up to others’ expectations – are universal and audiences everywhere can appreciate their stories and the struggles featured.
