The observational documentary offers dramatic insights into the challenging nature of deep sea submersible technology and the passions of the people willing to risk using experimental technology in a dangerous environment to achieve a dream of a lifetime. It also reveals some of the complex relationships and compromises required between commercial operators and scientists in order for rare deep sea scientific study to be achieved. The BBC committed to a one-hour documentary of this groundbreaking expedition, initially split across two halves, joining the expedition for 10 days, following developments as they happened. Using a combination of camera operators, UGC and fixed rig the documentary takes viewers on an immersive voyage to the bottom of the ocean, ultimately revealing the world’s most famous wreck in a visual definition previously unseen (8K).
