Juan Carlos: Downfall of The King

Gebrueder Beetz Filmproduktion, Sky, NBCU

GERMANY

- Crime & Investigative

The prime docu-thriller exposes an unimaginable abuse of power in the rise and fall of ex-Spanish King Juan Carlos I. From enthronement to present day, amid affairs, greed, and international corruption accusations, it unveils the exclusive world of the ruling 1%. Using a "house-of-cards-style," we gained access to key figures never before on camera, narrating the political corruption thriller firsthand. Starring King Juan Carlos's confidante, Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, ex-FBI Corruption Unit head, and a former Spanish secret service member, the series unfolds dramatically in a Shakespearean fashion. Production faced cybersecurity issues, hacker attacks, and Spanish secret service calls. Legal conflicts during release heightened pressure, affirming our path to expose concealed forces shaping our world! The series, in partnership with SKY and distributed by NBCU, premiered at Cannes Series and sold in 35+ countries.
