Quentin Blake's Box of Treasures: Jack and Nancy

Eagle Eye, BBC

BELGIUM, FRANCE, UK

- Animation: Children

Based on the popular children’s book by master storyteller and illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake, “Jack and Nancy” uses traditional hand-drawn techniques to bring this much-loved tale to life. Jack and Nancy love to hear stories of adventures in far- off lands and one day, the wind suddenly picks up and they’re blown away on an unlikely voyage of their own. They explore amazing landscapes, fantastical flora and exotic seas, just as they’d always longed to do. But as the days go on, Jack and Nancy begin to tire of their adventuring and miss the people and places they love. Jack and Nancy is a funny, heart-warming story that will appeal to all generations, with visuals that replicate the unique and quirky style of Quentin Blake. This half hour special is narrated by Olivier Award winning actor Adrian Lester, and the soundscape mirrors the naturally flowing organic style of the artwork, scored with an original composition and performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
