We like series 16 very much. Two comedy legends – Sue Perkins and Julian Clary - who we’d hoped to work with for many years finally said yes and the other three seats were filled with the brilliant comedy brains of Susan Wokoma, Sam Campbell and Lucy Beaumont. An odd but impeccable line-up – they laughed at failure, applauded success and had utter respect for one another. We film up to twelve tasks a day with the comedians. A task is set, they complete it and then we pop them in their room while we set up the next one. Some tasks are relatively short, others involve huge team effort to turn things around. The Hotel Taskmaster task, for example, meant us transforming the whole house into a hotel and rigging everywhere with cameras for one task in the middle of the day. This then had to be reset for another task and stored for next time. With Greg and Alex on top form and another brilliant raft of tasks from Alex’s brain it felt like a very special series indeed.
