Boot Dreams: Now or Never takes us into the heart and heat of a unique football training camp, set up by former player Gifton Noel- Williams. With the help of mentors including Portuguese International Bruno Fernandes, he wants to give a second chance to 16 young former professionals whose careers have hit the rocks. They’ve all been rejected by top clubs, and for many of these boys, still in their teens and early twenties, it’s been devastating. Using a combination of skills training and psychological support, Gifton wants to see whether mentoring on and off the pitch, can not only transform their game but kick start their careers. Each week, they’re playing in front of scouts who could be impressed enough to offer a brand new professional contract. With regular visits from presenter Roman Kemp, who once held hopes of becoming pro himself, Boot Dreams offers unique insight into the hopes and fears of young men who from childhood have dreamed of making it in football.
