WALES

- Feature Length Film

The drama is remarkable for many reasons. Firstly, it reveals a piece of history that’s in danger of being forgotten and presents it in a confident and energetic manner. It embraces the story in a playful way that intelligently blurs the lines between fact and fiction. It has a post-modern bent that challenges the audience’s expectations. The drama is beautifully directed by Lee Haven Jones in a manner that grabs the viewer’s attention and keeps surprising them. The script blends fact and fiction in a fusion that experiments with genre and form. The drama is groundbreaking because it is the first time a Welsh speaking black woman has taken the lead role in a screen drama and does this provocatively in order to provoke debate about how Welsh culture has evolved over the last 40 years
