- Live Action: Children (0-10)

JAMIE JOHNSON is a UK soccer drama for children and families, following a group of teenagers who dream of being footballers. The show is renowned for its social realism, thrilling football action and jaw-dropping sports star cameos. In Season 6, Phoenix FC’s quest for glory is interrupted by a shocking incident which threatens to tear them apart. During a crucial match, they are winning comfortably when one of their players is racially abused by a rival fan in the crowd. Distressed, he walks off the pitch, leaving his teammates with a huge decision to make. Do they stay on and win, or support their friend but risk forfeiting the match? This uncompromising storyline tackling racism in football was inspired by the personal experiences of Black footballers and our diverse cast and writing team. Praised by the FA, the Premier League and anti-racism body Kick It Out, we hope it will encourage our audience to engage with this issue and ask: are some things more important than football?
