The Jury: Death on the Staircase has become the second highest rating SBS show - across genres. It’s received widespread critical acclaim for its interesting concept and innovative approach, including five star reviews calling the series 'Brilliant. Riveting' and assuring viewers 'you'll be hooked from the start'. Australia's courts and legal academics are working with the producers to mine transcripts and do presentations for the legal fraternity about the production. They say it's a far more comprehensive and 'real world' experiment revealing juror decision making than they have achieved in academia. The SBS Original has received an AACTA Award nomination for best direction in non-fiction television (Tosca Looby and Ben Lawrence for Episode 1). It is now in the running for several other awards and continues to attract viewers across the broadest of demographics.
